Start Verification Button Greyed Out? Here’s What to Do
A grayed‑out Start Verification button in Meta Business Manager means Meta hasn’t enabled business verification for your portfolio yet. This happens for a few common reasons. Follow the checklist below — all actions begin in SendZen and jump into Meta only when needed.
In Meta, open Security Center. If the Start Verification button is disabled or missing, continue with the steps below.
2) Complete your Business Info (the most common issue)#
Meta won’t let you start verification until your Business Manager profile is complete. Make sure you’ve filled in:
Legal business name, address and phone number in Business Info.
Website (a working site that shows your business name).
Support email.
If your business info is incomplete, Meta hides the button:contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}. Update the details, wait a few minutes, refresh Security Center, and check again.
3) Assign at least one “asset” to your Business Manager#
Meta requires a reason to verify you. Verification becomes available only when your Business Manager owns assets that require verification (e.g. a WhatsApp Business Account, a Facebook Page or an ad account). For SendZen customers: Once you have completed Embedded Signup and accepted the WABA invitation (Jewel Notification), your WhatsApp Business Account counts as an asset and the Start Verification button becomes clickable:contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}.Other scenarios:
Add a Facebook Page you manage to your Business Manager.
Connect an existing ad account.
After adding the asset, refresh Security Center — the button should become clickable.
Some business managers require all admins to enable two‑factor authentication (2FA). If you see warnings about 2FA, turn on two‑factor authentication for every person with admin access. Then refresh Security Center.
The Start Verification button appears only when your Business Manager is eligible for verification. Fill out your business information, connect a Page/WABA/ad account, turn on 2FA, and then refresh Security Center. Once the button becomes active, you can proceed with business verification.
